Mission: SPACE wait times
EPCOT, Walt Disney World · typical posted waits from our own wait log, updated daily
What it is
A simulated rocket launch to Mars. The Orange version spins in a real centrifuge and is one of the most intense rides at Walt Disney World; the Green version skips the spin and is much milder.
Thrill level: Thrilling (4/5) · motion-sickness risk · spinning · indoors · must be 40 in (102 cm) or taller
Opened: 2003 (23 years ago)
Best time to ride
Quietest: around 8am (typically ~15 min posted). Busiest: around 8am (~15 min). In the first 15 minutes after the park opens it typically posts ~15 min.
Typical means the median posted wait across every day in our log at that hour; crowd level, weather and breakdowns move it. For a specific date, the planner adjusts for that day’s forecast crowd.

Posted vs real wait
Disney’s posted waits run high. For Mission: SPACE, a posted 60 minutes at 2pm has typically meant about 44 minutes in line, and at 8pm about 40 (from timed waits people recorded, 2015–2021 — before today’s Lightning Lane system, so treat it as an estimate). DisneyIQ shows both numbers on the live board.
Did you know?
The Orange mission uses a real centrifuge to create sustained G-forces.
